French-trained Chef Grégoire Jacquet opened the first high-end takeout restaurant in Berkeley’s Gourmet Ghetto in 2002. It’s been a neighborhood institution ever since. Nearly twenty years later, on the verge of franchising his establishment, Grégoire came to us looking for the whole nine yards and we were happy to oblige.

Logo & Visual Brand Identity
Over two decades in business, the Grégoire logo had undergone many variations. We made slight adjustments and standardized all logos for brand consistency. We built on his custom illustrations with a full menu featuring his signature potato puffs, his salads and sandwiches, and his delicious face.
Brand Storytelling
Over a series of meetings, we worked with the Grégoire executive team to define their brand archetype, ideal client personas, unique value proposition, key messages, brand story, and storytelling opportunities.
The end result was a comprehensive messaging and brand guide to inform external communications and get new team members up to speed.

Responsive Website Design & Development
We designed a fully branded site with an easy-to-use interface that incorporates their brand storytelling and immersive photography of their knockout take out. Like all our websites, the site is fully responsive and works great on all modern devices. With our redesign, new seasonal menus are available to view and download each quarter so the site is as fresh as the food Grégoire serves.
App Customization
We worked hand in hand with Gregoire’s app team to brand the user experience. Every visit earns you a potato puff — visit ten times and get $10 off. (That’s enough for a free order of those iconic potato puffs!)
Franchise Sales Website and Collateral
As part of their franchise expansion, we designed a website and pitch deck to attract the perfect investors. Nothing makes us happier than helping our clients grow their businesses through quality graphic design and brand strategy.

Menu Template Design
We had so much fun designing Grégoire’s innovative menu, which changes by season and uses the freshest ingredients. We created a menu that was both visually appealing and easy to read.
Brand Asset Design
The essentials of the Gregoire brand were well-established; our task was to take them to the next level. We redesigned their iconic hexagonal to-go box and accompanying paper bag. We also designed some fun swag, including t-shirts, aprons, and stickers.
Print Design
We had a blast coming up with several print designs for Gregoire’s brand: a franchisee flyer with a wild west “Wanted!” theme, a values poster in English and Spanish that kept employees in the know on company standards, and in-store signage that explained their rewards program.
Business Card Design
No brand is complete without an accompanying business card. We designed this card to convey the fun and joy of Chef Jacquet’s wonderful brand.
