Brand Bootcamp – Installing Fonts (MAC)

Tech

Need to install on a PC? We’ve got you covered.

The first step to keeping a tight backside brand is consistency. You now have the tools to do so (via your nifty Branding Guide) so what are you waiting for?

Tighten that brand – Install those fonts!

Method #1 – Old School

(for OS versions prior to 10.3)

  • Close any open applications.
  • Drag and drop the unzipped fonts into the Fonts folder in your user’s Library folder found here:
    /Users/Your_Username_Here/Library/Fonts.

Note: As of OS Lion, the library folder is hidden from users unless you hold down the Alt/Option key while clicking on the “Go” menu in Finder.

Method #2 – New School

(for Mac OS X 10.3 or higher)

How to install fonts on a Mac

  • Double click the font file and fontbook will open a preview of the font.
  • Click “install font” at the bottom of the preview.

This will automatically add the chosen font to your Font Book. Once you re-open the application you want to use the font in, VOILA! There it shall be. Now you’ll keep your brand in shape!
